It seems we needed a catchall for the things that just didn't fit well into any of the other forums, especially anything not computer-related.

Windows 10 Scam

Postby TinyJWRinLC » Thu Aug 06, 2015 2:22 am

Microsoft has their own schedule for putting Windows 10 on your machine.

Just days after Microsoft released its latest operating system, hackers have begun targeting soon-to-be Windows 10 users with an emerging kind of malware.

From the Cisco Blog:
Your Files Are Encrypted with a “Windows 10 Upgrade”
Not only do I not know what's going on, I wouldn't know what to do about it if I did.

I totally agree with the commenter that said, "I'm always amused by these poorly-composed phishing emails. The hackers can create sophisticated code that will encrypt all the files on your computer, yet they somehow can't manage to properly format English-language text in HTML." Except that it is really NOT funny. As always, PREVENTION is better than a cure!
