Re: The First Kindle?

That is pretty cool, but his eyes must have been pretty good to be able to read that tiny print!

Re: GTPCC News

It seems sporadic. Sometimes (like when I posted above) it is not working on several computers and browsers, then I check a few days later and it works fine. Considering the news coming from them, I assumed (incorrectly) that they had already packed their bags.
I should know better...
NEVER assume!

Re: GTPCC News

Seems to be down for the count again, and I suspect it may be permanent this time, although Jerry had said they were going to try to keep it up until February 2018, when their domain and host expires. Sad to see them go -- the club as well as the website.

Re: Lock Down the Firefox Browser

There is no substitute for reading the settings and options available and adjusting them as you see fit. Articles such as this are a good starting point, but ultimately, YOU make choices that work best for you. Or come to a SWLAPCUG meeting where browser security/settings/add-ons/practices are a fre...

If CBS All Access Is the Future of Television, We're Screwed

If CBS All Access Is the Future of Television, We're Screwed When every channel becomes a standalone service, we all lose. This article exactly sums up my thoughts on the trend whereby every network, studio, and other entity feels compelled to create their own PAID streaming service, collectively l...

Re: Funny Movies

Some surprises, a few I disagree with, and even more that I never heard of (foreign?) But, I was delighted to see "The Princess Bride" and "Young Frankenstein", 2 of my all-time favorite movies, as well as "Blazing Saddles". One of my other all-time favorite movies is n...

Looooong overdue update to my website

Well, for those who have asked, I finally got around to doing some minor updates to the home page of my personal website ! Long overdue, I know. Next step is to go in and verify the links are all still valid and update them as well. And last, and probably not anytime soon (LOL) is to update the BLOG...

Why I Write

Why do I write articles for the club website or the club newsletter... or occasionally for my own sadly neglected website? The simple fact is that many, if not most of the articles I write, started out as notes for my own use. Any time I tackle a new project or try to figure out how to do something ...

Change Desktop Icon Size

After another Windows 10 update, I noticed my Desktop icons were now HUGE... and I don't like that! No problem, however. I'll simply change them back, by right-clicking on the Desktop and selecting View, then switching to either small (my usual choice), or medium. That is when I discovered that thos...
