Re: Darn! Once Again I'm Not the Best

I have used Avast on all my computers for several years, but have considered BitDefender. If I ever feel the need to switch, that is at the top of my very short list. I have tried EaseUS ToDo Backup Free, and agree that it is one of the better "FREE" options, but there was something I didn...

Re: A Facebook Rant

My Facebook advice is even simpler - I don't do Facebook, period.
Of course, she who must be obeyed is addicted, and I am constantly trying to teach FB safety,or cleaning up the minor (or major) disasters that result from not heeding my advice.

Re: Looking For A Job?

At first I was surprised, as I was pretty sure the largest employer in most states is the public school system, but then I read the actual title of the map: "Top Private Employers in each state".

Re: Flunking

I didn't actually time myself, but know I can easily do it, as I have been a "daydreamer" ever since I was a kid... and in many ways I am still just a kid, stuck in an adult's body and in an adult's world.

Re: GravityLight

The project is about bringing light to areas with little to no electricity... and little money for batteries, if they can even find any. There is also a campaign to furnish these to the target market at no cost. I love the concept, but will not be buying one myself. For anyone that does, you would b...

GravityLight

I had seen a few internet ads for this lately, but none with any real info, so... curiosity killed the cat. The GravityLight is a fantastic concept, whereby a small LED lamp is illuminated for 20 minutes by lifting a weight and letting it gradually descend, powering a generator in the process. It wa...

Web Document tab missing in file properties

I recently noticed an annoying problem when I right-click any .url file, or and shortcut (.lnk) to a .url file, and select properties to see the target. The "Web Document" tab was missing. Previous versions of Windows had the target in a "Shortcut" tab, which Windows 10 still use...
